Care of
Your Handcrafted Jewelry
To ensure you enjoy your jewelry for years to come, here are some
little reminders:
* Since many of our pieces are crafted with semi-precious gemstones,
crystal or glass beads, if you drop it on a hard surface, it may
break. Please contact us and we may be able to re-create a piece
with your unbroken beads.
* Last on/First off - Chemicals from hair spray, make-up,
perfume and cleaning products, can damage your jewelry. Always
put your jewelry on last, and take it off first. We also recommend
removing your jewelry before exercising, showering or sleeping.
* Please
remember that all sterling silver is prone to tarnishing. Tarnishing
is a natural process caused by oxidation. It can be removed very
easily by rubbing the silver gently with a polishing cloth. When
used regularly, a polishing cloth can prevent the build up of
tarnish.
* Metals
can react differently on different persons. Sometimes this is
because of a person's body chemistry, other times might be because
of what type of soap or lotion or perfume a person might use, and
still others depends on the metals themselves. Some bodies tarnish
metal faster than others.
* Cleaning - Most of the time, all you need to do to keep your
jewelry clean and ready to wear is to use a soft, 100% cotton cloth
to gently wipe each piece clean after wearing. If your piece is
excessively dirty, wipe gently with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
We do not recommend dipping or soaking your handcrafted items.
* Storing - To help retard tarnish, store your jewelry in a
cool, dry place. Placing in a zip-seal bag with the air pressed out
will also help. It's best not to hang your jewelry. Place it
inside a pouch or jewelry box instead.
We hope you love your jewelry as much as we did in creating it! |
